Bird Family

How did chickadees evolve to be so friendly around humans?
Chickadees and birds in that bird family seem very comfortable around humans. They will land on your hand or shoulder. Has anyone studied the history or evolution of this species to see why they appear to be much friendlier or less fearful than other birds?
Certainly to some extent.

It is what it is. Evolutionary, you would expect some bird species to fill the urban niche, and a large part of that is not being afraid of humans. Unfortunately I can’t get easy free access to the article above to provide you with more information. It looks like it discusses the proximal (mechanistic) causes underlying such behavior.
