Cat Patrol
Are some cats more nocturnal than others?
One of my cats patrols the house ALL night and sleeps all day. She makes rounds and seems to be watching and listening for things, like mice, or whatever.
My other cat, a male, spends a lot of time awake during the day, interacting with his human family.
Are cats basically nocturnal? And are some more or less so than others?
cats are nocturnal, but they are also designed to do what is best for the pride.
if a new cat joined a pride and hated humans, but the other cats loved humans, he would love humans, because the pride learned to be nice to humans to get food.
when a cat joins a human family, the family becomes the pride, he adjusts his sleeping habits to the rest of the pride.
however, if he feels no one else is protecting or hunting for the pride, he will stay up all night doing what he feels is best.
