Have you ever given your dog carrots as a treat?
My Golden Retriever got a little chubby so I had to put her on a diet. The vet suggested carrots as a treat. She gobbles them up and really likes them, have you tried it with your chubby dog?
My dog’s not chubby anymore, and it was my fault for her diet, not exercise. She gets plenty of that. I inherited her from a family who didn’t want her anymore so I started giving her wet food three times a week, a milkbone after every walk and trip to the park, etc. She was just a little chubby, not fat. She looks fantastic now.
Yes…… 2 of my Cairns terriers started getting chubby!
one of my terriers hit 20lbs and the other hit 18lbs.
The vet told us the same to give them two cut up baby carrots everyday after a good daily run.
That was about 2 months ago, they are back to their healthy weight and have much more energy!
