How to fix a porcelain cookie jar.?
My wife accidentally broke a cookie jar lid of her mother’s and is devastated. It broke into 12 large pieces and a little bit of dust. What would be the best way to fix it or have it fixed?
You can buy two thing that come to mind. Epoxy witch you would mix and it will bond to porcelain very well. But it can get messy. I would recommend Supper Glue. Its easy and drys fast. This is going to be a project like a puzzle, so take pleasure in this. So now you have every thing glued together now you just need to fill the cracks and gaps.
You should go to the hardware store and pick up some kind of porcelain putty. They should have it near the grout or caulking. Patch up the cracks with some putty and gently use a damp towel to wipe across the porcelain to make it smooth. Take one piece of the lid into the store to have them match up the color.
